CAT/MAT/TANCET

What is CAT?

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level management entrance examination conducted by IIM. It is the gateway to enter MBA courses in20 IIMs and 8000 other business schools in India. The test is conducted every year by one of the IIMs based on a policy of rotation.

Eligibility:

Candidates with any graduate degree can apply. Age is not a constraint.

It is a computer based test and evaluate the quantitative, verbal/reading, data interpretation and reasoning skills of the candidate. The duration of the exam is 3 hrs. Students have to answer 100 questions that contains 72% multiple choice type and 28% subjective type.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a National Level Entrance Test through which candidates can find admission into M. Tech./M.E./PhD Programmes in IITs, IISERs, IISc and other known Institutes of India.

IISc and IITs are the responsible authorities that conduct this exam on rotational basis

Registration for GATE examination  starts in the first  week of September

 

The GATE score is valid for three years from the date of announcement of results. It is  used by some PSUs for their recruitment.

GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website is  live from the first week of  September.

Registration for application will be held for a month  and the exam will be held in the first and second weeks of February  on Saturdays & Sundays in online mode.

Answer Key  is released within a few days after examination
Announcement of GATE  results is  on the Online Application Website in the middle of March every year  and candidates can download the score card from March and May.
Counselling will  Commence in the  Second week of April.

 

 How to Apply ? 

form. Scanned copy of photograph and signature has to be uploaded, and application fee can be paid online or by Challan (if applicable). A period of around one month is given to complete the process  Interested candidates can go through the eligibility criteria of GATE and then fill the online application

 

GATE Registration Process involves the following steps:

  1. Read the application form of GATE at the official website http://www.gate.iitg.ac.in/
  2. Enter details asked in the GATE 2018 registration form such as name, date of birth, email ID and Mobile Number

iii. Next step for filling the GATE application form is to upload photograph, signature and  other documents

  1. Pay the Application Fee as suitable to the category to the category, which complete form submission.

Payments would have to be made through online by using net banking or debit card or e-Challan facilities

GATE  Exam Pattern 

It is obligatory to have a look on the exam pattern before the actual examination. The GATE Paper Pattern helps the applicant to know the duration of exam, mode and marking scheme for the same.

  1. The exam will be held in the online mode.
  2. The questions in the examination will be MCQs and Numerical questions.

Eligibility for SSC Exams

  • Graduate Level Examination- Graduation or equivalent in any other discipline.

The SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination notifications revealed on yearly basis in the month of October in employment new or in some of the other newspapers of India. The qualified candidates of main examination will be have to appear for an interview OR physical efficiency test.

Selection Process of Non Technical and Technical Posts:

The Ministry of Railways and Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts written exam to fill various Non Technical and Technical posts. The tests are designed according to the educational standards required for the post. For some categories, written test may be followed by interview and for others a skill test or psychological test may also be conducted as required by the posts Job profile. All questions are multiple-choice objective type.

More than one written test may be conducted (Preliminary and mains exam) if the number of applicants is large. Written test includes questions on Arithmetical Aptitude, General responsiveness, and General English. Questions on logical and analytical reasoning will also be included in the examination. English will be the only mode of instruction for the Technical Cadre exam.

It was left largely to the discretion of provincial Governments to recruit and exercise control over their Services, as they thought proper. As a result of the discretionary powers left to provincial Government, the Government of Madras and Punjab proposed to set up their Public Service Commissions.

Articles 316 to 319 deal with the structure of State Public Service Commissions. CDS

Combined Defence Service (CDS) exam is held to recruit office cadre of the Army, Navy Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy. The CDS Exam is conducted twice in a year by UPSC. The notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively.

Eligibility:

Candidate must be a citizen of India/ a subject of Bhutan/ subject of Nepal/ a Tibetan refugee.
